neo 2x10 cab in 30 lb range

Is it the size or the weight that you are looking for? I've got a 2x8 cab that is amazing and within your weight rating. I replaced a PF210 with it and it was better in every way imaginable than the 210 - lighter, louder, clearer, smaller and with plenty of bottom for a full B string tone.

edit - my 2x8 isn't for sale and I'm not naming the builder since it isn't a 210 and I don't want to pollute a 210 threat with some 8" noise.

Another huge +1 for fEarless or a fEarful 12/6. Louder than any "conventional" 210, lighter, lower, clearer and usually smaller. If you have the scratch and can wait for the build, IMHE, nothing else really comes close. Ideally there may be someone near you with a cab you can play/hear.

Mainly weight but if it is smaller that's cool also. Where and from whom did you get the 2X8? available as 8 ohm?

I got mine from Link Removed, but others are authorized to build them as well:

Mine is 4 ohm. I have thrown 500 watts at it and it never blinked. Currently running a Shuttle 9.2 through it with a 5 string. I have also run a whole string quartet through it and it was stellar!

Hey guys,
Can anyone direct me to a cab builder who can build a 2x10 8ohm cab in the 30lb range. Or is there one on the market already?
Thanks

The hard part about doing that with off-the-shelf components is, finding suitable 4-ohm or 16-ohm 10" woofers. Faital Pro is the only such woofer manufacturer that comes to mind. You might contact Don Oatman at Low Down Sound and see what he could do on a custom basis. Personally I think a single 8-ohm "uber 12" may well do more of what you need from a bass cab, which is (perhaps somewhat oversimplified), to move a lot of air without farting out.

Do you tune to low-B, or low-E, or something else?

The Kappalite 3012LF woofer used in the fEARful and Fearless 112 cabs will move considerably more air than most 2x10 cabs. According to Greenboy's website those cabs are in the 32-48 pound range, depending on wood and other options. I use that same woofer in a couple of models and think very highly of it.

The Fearless F110 is in the 29-35 pound range, depending on options, and its woofer moves approximately twice as much air as a conventional 10" woofer, so that's another possibility.

Greenboy's cabs are very well designed and go deeper than most bass cabs. In instances where he and I use the same woofers, I've opted for smaller and lighter and of course traded off low-end extension in doing so... not because I think what he's doing is wrong, but in the interest of offering a wider range of choices to bass players.

Thanks for all the info Duke.

I think I would go for the 12's if I was certain that they will be as punchy as 10's are. I would need 2- 8 ohm cabs that can handle 1000 watts combined.
What are your thoughts regarding my preference. Will the 12's be as punchy?
