Nephew Of Mothman. NiD

I love those closeups. Next time, do you mind using the electron microscope? I want to see where the string meets the hinge in greater detail.

That much detail would blind a mortal

I have all the questions and yet none of them I'm able to form into words.

Speechless... its too much to take in.

Grind to a fine powder like consistency, than mix with epoxy to form a zen water fountain. Use a fish tank pump to circulate the blood.

I know you wouldnt trash it if it were on your bench...

Ratpunk. Split the difference.

I love the way on first glance the bridge looks like an uncovered Strat trem cavity and you think "Dude, you're holding it backwards."

It does look like a strat trem cavity, ive thought that also.

Weird, I didn't notice your feet in any of the pics.

Oh, interesting axe too. I think the intonation adjustment screws are begging for a hex head though. It's certainly unique. :D

HEX head... I get what you did there... I'll likely drop this on my feet, the Mothman line demands blood.

I took it out back and grabbed an angle grinder and chewed the deadly fret ends down, then dressed them with a file.
I found an extra fret jammed in the bridge, so I beat that into the 12th/octave slot.

I really love this little piece of truss-rod-less wood. I set out last night to make it a 3 Nylon Tapewond lefty bass... but then my son fell in love with it. We must have a fractured chromosome in common. It'll stay a 5 string guitar for now.

I put a strap on it (and added strap buttons) and misplaced that boomerang button immediately . We plugged it in, it works.

A five-string? That explains it all! This must be the long-lost prototype for the Keith Richards signature Stoned Stone line of guitars, a project which never got beyond early R&D.

Whoever did it is a good person to know if ever comes the day when the bombs drop.

I worked with an old guy from Oklahoma in a custom furniture shop. He couldn't read or write but he made the damnedest little custom tools and jigs. Probably one of the most resourceful person I've ever met. I remember thinking if the s**t hits the fan, he'll be just fine.

Naw, this is the Mothman's real nephew.

My grandfather on my Mom's side was like that. Bill was an old-school machinist and self-taught carpenter, painter, plumber, electrician, mason, surveyor, auto mechanic, and general engineer. He could fix or make anything. Had a workshop divided between his garage and basement that had the most amazing collection of tools imaginable, many of which he built himself. Whenever he needed something his first thought was always to build it himself. Only had a sixth grade formal education before he got sent to work in one of the Fall River MA fabric mills. But you'd never know it. He was extremely well read, fluent in three languages, could read Latin and classical Greek, was an absolute wiz at math and totally killer with a slide rule. I learned trigonometry from him when I couldn't follow the way it was being taught in my HS math class.

That generation born right before or just at the turn of the previous century was pretty amazing.

Again I'd turn it into a zen water fountain for my blood altar, tis not destruction but a sacrifice of love to the god of fountains!
