That's a good point. Sports aren't quite nerdy. There's an argument for saying that knowing tons of stats and facts about any particular subject is nerdy, but I don't think sports count as nerdy or geeky.

I think nerdy or geeky is whatever we choose it to be. There may be pockets of individual nerdiness that we don't all share but it is nerdy just the same.
As for baseball it attracts a lot more nerds and geeks than any other popular pro sport. There is more poetry written about baseball than any other sport that I know of.
