New 4x10

I'd say that the Avatars look very tempting to buy (I'm considering 1 or 2 4x10's), but the GK 410 Neo would go great with your 1001RB-II if you wanted to use the biamp features of it. It's nice to be able to control the lows/mids and treble amp-side instead of using the passive attenuator. Main reason that I miss my 700RB-II/2001RB.

Technically, The GK is 200 w lower, but it was designed with the GK Head peaks in mind. Remember that you will most likely never be pushing the full 400-some watts of the SVT, since speakers start stressing much earlier than their thermal limits. THe GK comes with castors and is tolexed, so if ordered from RMC audio it will be only a little more than a tolexed avatar after shipping.

Another thought, a New neo 15" speaker can be had from Carvin for 100 bucks.
I'm still thinking about getting the Avatar, and also repairing my now useless 15" cab.
then I have two!
Come to think of it, I have two Eminence 12 inchers sitting in my workshop, anyone have a good design for a 2x12 cab?
Any experience with using Carvin replacement speakers?

Have you checked out Genz-Benz 410 cabs?

Both are excellent.

From what i can tell, that's adding about 500 dollars over the Avatar. Just can't justify that. I mean, I've never paid more than 500 for a bass, or an amp.

good grief brother... just buy the avatar. I've been blown away w/ my gk 1001rb running my avatar 410 (8 0hm) and have been also running a hartke 410 (8 ohm) with it, but i'll end up smoking my hartke w/ these watts so i've been trying to decide if i want the avatar 212 or another 410 to go w/ my current one. but good God man, big, terrific sound! Also, you can't find better customer service should you need it (but you won't).
