I just scored an Acoustic 220 amp for free from Craigslist.
"Fair" condition you could say. There is some loud crackling as the amp turns on for about the first five seconds. I don't know anything about solid state amps. Might that be filter caps going bad?
Most of the rubber feet need to be replaced; no biggie, I ordered some I think will do from Rubberfeetwarehouse.com
Finally, three of the four knobs are missing and all that are left are the posts, which are an unusual oblong shape, as opposed to round. Anyone know where to find replacement knobs for '70s Acoustic bass amps? Or a good keyword to search for the kind of knob that would go on an oblong post? There are plenty of sources for generic electronics knobs, but the options are dauntingly abundant. Musical instrument-oriented sites like ampwares and mojotone don't seem to have the kinds of knobs that would fit on the oblong posts this Acoustic amp has.
Anyway, thanks for any help or tips you can share!
