Looks like it might be a mini pedal version of the DB 924 bass preamp if you connect the dots from their instagram post on 12/12.

Yeah, they posted an image on Facebook with "925" visible, so something derived from the DB924, in a small 1590a enclosure. The DB924 is probably very close to their onboard OBP-preamps, so might just be an external OBP mini pedal version.

Interesting. Nice compact design but the side mounted jacks kind of cancel that out. I’ve bought a lot of pre amp pedals over the years and my original 924 (the battery only one) and the tone hammer pedal are two of my favorites. If I had to sell off all of my pre amp pedals, the Tone Hammer would be the keeper. It just does “something “ that I can’t explain. It has a certain “voice “ that I love.

To be fair, 1590a can't facilitate top jacks. So they didn't really have a choice on that. I haven't tried the 924, but I agree that the TH has something special going on. Only ditched mine because I didn't need a full fledged 3-band EQ and DI in a box that size. Will be interested to see if this 925 has some of that gritty/unique Aggie magic on its own, as this would easily fit into my lineup.

I’ve never understood boost only preamps. Maybe for the bass control, but who wouldn’t want to cut some treble from time to time?!

Or cut some lows? Plus, by cutting both highs and lows together, you can emphasize mids.

Has anyone checked out the anniversary pedals? Am I missing something or are they just charging more for uglier pedals? Keely did something similar last year but they reduced the prices of their x pedals.

At the very least they should be the same cost as the regular pedals. I’m also having a hard time understanding why they cost more. Aguilar stuff is top notch though so I’m sure they’ll have no problem selling.
