Italian teacher LEONARDO PRESICCI describes the contents of the titles above Carisch recently has published nine volumes in digital format (pdf) regarding our instrument too, which can be downloaded from Link Removed at extremely reasonable costs, competitive in comparison with the same photocopies. Believing that it could interest the bassists community (students, teachers and professionals), Im taking the liberty of describing briefly the contents of this catalogue where, besides my contribution, there is that of other two colleagues, Michele Cellaro and Giovanni Rinaldi. Personally, I have edited the review of the 9 Studies of Simandl. The book, which is honoured by the Maestro Petracchis preface, also includes the piano accompaniment part (not easily findable). I have also edited the transcription of some famous compositions, such as 3 pieces from Carmen (Habanera, Intermezzo and Toreador), then a volume containing Faurès Apres un reve (in D minor) and Pavane and, finally, the Händel Triosonata op.2 n.8 for two double bass and piano (or harpsichord), here published for the first time in D minor, considering this key more suitable for the double bass, than the most known version in G minor. All of these pieces (except Simandl) have TWO PIANO PART, so that the executor can choose to play in the normal orchestral tuning or in solo tuning. In the case of Händel, there is also an additional cello part, to be used optionally (but only in the solo tuning version) on the place of the 1st bass. Among the publications of Michele Cellaro there are CAPRICCIO per due Contrabbassi by Bottesini, hitherto unpublished, Vanhal's Concerto (both with two piano parts), a book of Appunti di tecnica con varianti (technical notes with variations) and then Due passi con il pianoforte (two steps with piano), which consists of some excerpts from orchestral works by Bach, Beethoven, Verdi, etc.., with piano accompaniment. Finally Giovanni Rinaldi was responsible for the review of some "cornerstones" of the double bass repertoire such as the Dragonetti Concert and Concertstück by Geissel, both in the volume "Antologia" and the Concert by Dittersdorf, all with two piano parts. The quality of these 10 PDF is absolutely very good. You can find the correct fingers (but naturally you can also change them), the ones that Petracchi uses. They are very logical. I hope you can enjoy.
