My pictures got out of sequence but maple fretboard is the 78. Rosewood 2025 new build MJT and the body only picture was 2020 MJT Antigua, first attempt.

It was featured on their Instagram and had 29 watchers on EBay, was a hot body! Shout to your vomit bass, enjoyed your Jazz bass video.

I had to sacrifice a couple of fantastic basses to the God of Looming Financial Burdens.

1. A not-too-distant relative to Antigua, in that it's a divisive finish; a 2013 Fender American Standard in Jade Green Metallic. I was on the fence about buying this lovely, used instrument. The price was damn good at that time, especially given how well maintained it had been, but the fact that my wife loves earthy green tones nudged me into pulling the trigger.

2. A Limited Edition Fender-Japan "All Black" Jazz bass. It was another instrument that came with a shockingly good price tag, even with it being shipped halfway across the World. Mad love for Ishibashi on that front! It was in great shape, the "Hotrod" pickups were something special, it weighed a feathery 7lb.7oz. and it came with that excellent gig bag, to boot. (At least I still have the gig bag!)

Those are some good looking jazzs’. I’ve never played a bad instrument from Fender Japan. Agree green is unique in the Fender catalog but I appreciate it. Antique Olive was killer.

They did good! Just Goggle "Antiqua Fender bass/guitar" - the Antiqua look is all across the board. (and mostly ~) I've always liked the finish but only when it looks more like that. Good to know MJT are capable of delivering it.

Also see mod shop does Antigua but you’d need to find your own matching pickguard. Totally agree in the varying shades of this finish. Some look green, gray, khaki all slightly different. I’m guessing Fender in the 70’s (probably in attempt to cut cost) experimented with different primer techniques which lead to some of the unique aging of their instruments coming out at that time. MJT did an amazing job recreating it.

Looks awesome. I heard the original Antigua finish was to cover up burned bindings on those Coronados (like the ones you have pictured) from the late 60’s. Then Fender reintroduced it in the late 70s.

Thank you, looks true to the older Fender I had. MJT puts out really high quality stuff. Looks like a piece of art in real life.
