New Bass Day! (Alembic Content)

Well I actually got this bass yesterday. It's a beautiful 1976 Alembic Series I, and it sounds and looks so impressive! This photo does the bass no justice.

That a real beauty, congrats. Series I electronics are really cool and flexible. The inclusion of the master volume almost makes it a Series I/II.

Have tons of fun. If you haven't done so already, check out the Alembic Club at alembic.com and show off your new score.

Wow, if that photo doesn't do the bass justice then you must have a hard time looking at the bass in person without wearing welder's goggles! Farkin' gorgeous!

What's the scale length? How's the balance?

I luves me old Series Alembics, that's a fantastic looking specimen.

I don't know exactly what the scale length is, but I suspect it's at least 34".

As far as the balance goes, it's alright except the previous owner had the neck-side strap button moved to the back of the bass, which allows for more dive. It isn't horrible though.
