New BASS Day - ESP LTD PHOENIX 1004 w/ Fishman split coils

This Beaty was delivered to me last night in the box with Schecter logo on it

I’m really surprised how light this bass is , lighter than the old Tbird Gibson 92’ I had .

Great build quality miles better than Gibsons

Fishman split coil pick ups, can give you tones from vintage tbird sound to modern metal machine .

Factory tuning D standart

Waiting for my case now ‍

Ps I’m being 5 string guy so it’s hard to play on the 4 strings for me

Order d one of these today, though the black one with the EMG35P4 and EMG35J. LOVE the aesthetics, which is basically most of what this beast is about.

Without having received it, I does have a big "con" for me-what the heck is this proprietary tuning machine size? I may have to buy USA Hipshot Ultralites because it will help a little with the weight (mine is ten pounds unlike yours, but I do not mind that much), and because I am unable to find exact drop on tuners from Hipshot to replace them with. I need to replace them because, if there is no compatible Xtender, may as well have someone drill the holes for the Ultralites. That's it-my complaint. Otherwise it looks like it's going to be a great, fun bass to play with!

Yes bass is great and it’s cool to have 2 different voicings.

I agree on machine heads , mine is also pretty stiff but it holds tune like a champ

Darn, I sadly had to return it without even accepting the package, because the cool reverse headstock wasn't really compatible with the Hipshot Xtender. It was very sad as I was looking forward to it, but I rightly thought I would not use it much because of that. Note that I am NOT anti- reverse headstock, and have one such Jackson guitar, it's just the Xtender thing was extremely disappointing. It wasn't a problem with the bass, weight, style-just the Xtender issue! For players that do not use a Xtender (the majority?!) the Phoenix 1004 has no issues, and I liked the reverse headstock look.

I ended up purchasing a "humble" and relatively more "pedestrian" LTD Surveyor 87 a few days later, because the price was awesome, it was new, and I am used to and love the old P bass. It's simple, but sounds and looks great, and the neck is a marvel to behold and play. Same tuners as the Phoenix, and still will change them due to the Hipshot Xtender, BUT I will be able to use it with the "normal" headstock.
