New bass day - Schecter US Custom Jazz (pics!)

I don't think you can. I would change the pots while you are at it. Several of my Schecters came with the coil tap, which was kind of neat, bit I never used it and eventually took it out when I swapped out the PUs. If you want to go that route, I think you can with the STK-2s which are also great and would sound good in that bass as well.

I've become a BIG fan of Duncan pickups. I have a Quarter Pounder P and an SMB-4A in my Clement Custom and my import Schecter Model T came equipped with SPB-2 and SJB-2 pickups and they're GREAT!
I can see where a pair of SJB-2's would probably work great in that bass. They are Duncan's "Hot" version of that pickup and I know the one in my Model T is excellent. PLenty of output and excellent clarity.

Enjoy that bass- I think you scored a winner!!

Nice bass. I would imagine it had the original Schecter Monstertones such as these ones I own. They can be coil tapped but I've just got them wired as standard with no tap. I think the 90's Schecter stuff was great...excellent score.

Here is my 1998 USA Schecter, scored it at the Hollywood Mesa store on a half off sale for around $900 back in 1999... I've installed a million different pup's in this thing, and as you can see it's now a J/MM configuration that are SGD's, which got me back as close as possible to the original Jazz tone. I did have the 1/4 pounders in for awhile but this bass screams vintage, take them out! Your bass is worth every penny of the $400 and I would spare no expense on some great vintage Jazz pup's to go in it. I would say the 2-tek was done probably as mode after it was built?

Mine has a nice light tung oiled swamp ash body which I offset the weight with some Ultralite Hipshot tuners. The neck on this bass is the best I have EVER played, with a smooth as butter satin finish! Super light bass that I can funk all night!!

A USA Schecter could have come stock with a 2 tek bridge. It looks like a first edition bridge. '96 and later bridges were a little smaller to reduce weight. I'd say from the pics it was stock, or someone did one hella job. Great score! SJB2's would be a good addition.
