Well After Waiting a month for my Order to come in I finely got my New 2011 American Jazz Deluxe V Ash!!!:hyper:...And Man am I in Love!!! WOW it had been a very very long time since i had had a fender....had kinda Fallen out of love with them the past few years never really thought i would ever own one again....but that all changed when i went to the music store and Saw one of these babies hanging on the wall....pick it but just for the heck of it and....welll the rest is history.....fell in love from the first note!!! If That bass had been the 5 string i would of bought it then and there. Can Not say enough nice things about these New revised Jazz Deluxe Basses!!! Fender Got it Right and Good!!! I am Soo amazed at how light it is....my old fender 5 string was a killer when it came to weight. And as for tone and sound....This Is The Nicest Bass i have ever herd.....What can i say I am In Love and just have to share some of that love with you all!!! So if you have some New Fender Love Feel free to Share Away!! Cheers all!!!:bassist:

Wow dude congrats, absolutely stunning!!! Indeed i'm about to get one of these, so i have a few questions i hope you can help me:

1- In which position are placed the pickups on this model? 60's? 70's?

2- The Pickups are True Single Coils or Split Coil??

3- Is the preamp any good? If not, there's enough place under jackplate to install an Aguilar OBP-3 Pre that i have?

Thankyou very much! (Crappy english sorry)

Thankx Man!! As Far as I can Tell for just looking at pic's The Pickups are placed similar to the 60's. As far as Pickups....i cant say for sure....some reason i almost think they are a stacked split single coil....if that makes any sense at all. I am Sure There Is other that can tell you for sure...i remember reading somewhere about them on the fender sight just cant find it right now!! As for me I love The New Preamp On This bass....Alot of tone control and quite hot....there is quite a jump when you switch it from passive to active mode....find the active Mode very full and rich sounding has just the extra fullness and tone that you cant get from the passive mode!!! All And All A very very well crafted Bass...great neck nice and like and Sounds Like a Million$$!!!

Thankx Guys!!! As for me there is no way i would change the bridge or take out the preamp.....come on it is active and passive with the flick of a switch!!! As for a white pickguard....nah i dig the black It is such a classic look like the 75 jazz...i just dont think the white would go well with it! IMHO ;). Man I waited a month for mine and it was killing me when it was a week late.....i would of died if i had to wait 4 months....but it would of been worth every second of it!!...What can i say It is a Fender!!!

I'm thinking of getting this bass but i have a question if someone would be so kind as to answer it. Is the Natural Wood version varnished? Or could I go at it with some Black wood stain. I want the wood effect but would prefer it in black.

:)
