I generally hate Fenders. I usually think they're ugly and sound like smacking a piece of plastic. They just aren't my thing (no hate if they're yours, you rock on brotha/sista). That being said, you sir have a sexy bass right there. That's freakin' awesome.
I didn't even realize they made the Aerodynes in red. That is a killer looking bass. Hope it sounds as good but I think I know the answer to that already!! Well done hombre

I don't know how much these go for in the states but here in Spain, an Aerodyne is near impossible to find, in Thomann you are looking at 999€ for the new solid black model.
I can tell you that thanks to the ebayer seller, (he has dozens of Japanese made guitars and basses up) I got this for less than half that delivered to the door.
Anyone who wants the ebayer details just give me a shout.
Now! All go and buy Aerodynes!

My first bass was an Aerodyne! I guess I drew an ace on my first go, ja?
But what I'd really like someday is the standard, non-export Aerodyne in Candy Apple Red. It's still at the top of my GAS-list.

I am began to realize the difference every time I changed a pickup volume or adjusted the tone and there was another great sound.

I absolutely love the binding on it, it really makes the color stand out. what a beautiful bass.
