New Bass Day!

Been playing it this morning and I have to say, this bass makes my MIM P bass feel like a piece of junk, I'm so incredible impressed by the craftsmanship, the feel, the tone. The quality is extremely impressive! I also can't believe the amount of tones I can pull out of it and so far ALL of them are good tones in the right context!:bassist:

Yes, I concur, I really am a blessed man :), Holy cow this bass sounds and plays incredible, bit odd having that fifth string but in time I can tell I'm going to love it :bassist:

That is so cool! You're a very lucky man!

About "that fifth string"....My advice (and it's differant for everybody) is to leave your other basses alone and put all your efforts into the five string. I kept going back and forth between 4 and 5 string to the point of messing me up. ("Is that a G or a D??") I knew I had to get more comfortable with the 5 string (and I wanted to) so for the past two months it's been nothng but the 5 string for me and it's working.

Hmm, that sounds like a great idea, in all honesty I thought about selling the 4 string so I had to learn 5 string bass. I believe your idea though will work just as well and is a bit less drastic.

I know of a few friends that can make the switch between 4 and 5 string without issue. So far, the only bass I've sold recently was a great Ibanez SR505. I would screw up any time I stopped concentrating hard I remember the 5th string. If I only had 1 or 2 basses I'd probably make them 5 strings and go all 5. But I have too many to replace with 5/10/15 string. ( I have 4, 8 an 12 strings fretted and fretless )

I can't deny the flexibility of the 5 string. I am either not able or willing to put in the time to jump back and forth. Go all 5!

And congrats.
