I'm seriously wondering if they'd make a righty reverse, fin on the bottom, knobs at the base of the fin.

Intriguing, and not that hard to look at either. But if I showed up with that at any of my gigs (a number of bands) I'd be laughed out the door. Probably.

I am so glad I have never been in a band situation like that!

Even in some of my pit orchestra gigs - which can often have many older "frowny-faced" types in the winds or strings, I never get laughed at or told to play something else. I still get the frowny face from those types, but that is for everything

It was a "tongue in cheek" comment, and at the end I said "Probably." The fiddlers and the cowboy hat wearing folks are the ones I'd bet on to laugh the hardest. It wouldn't be much different than showing up at a fiddler's convention as back up dressed like Gene Simmons in his KISS garb.
Time and place.

Yeah, what he said. Though it would fit in rather nicely in a "fat old men in spandex play hair metal hits of the 80s" kinda band!:roflmao:
