I just got my new issue in the mail with Stanley Clarke on the cover. They have a new editor, the editor from the U.K.'s Bass Guitar Magazine. It looks like the two magazines have basically consolidated into one. It is 16 pages longer than previously. There is quite a bit more space devoted to gear reviews and bass instruction. Sadly, it looks like John Goldsby and Ed Friedland are no longer contributing to the latter, as the BGM instructors are providing that. I haven't read it cover to cover yet, and I haven't decided whether I prefer the new format. It has transitioned from an American publication to a British publication, although Chris Jisi and other BP mainstays remain on staff. It is more substantial, which is welcome.
