I just picked up this beauty...a very nice Yamaha BB NE2 custom. The bass was used by a Yamaha endorsee who used it as his backup bass. There is slight mojo but all in all this thing is gorgeous!

The artist ordered it with all black hardware which I think looks much better than the gold. The bass has alnico pickups and the Nathan East 3 band parametric eq with a mid cut control. The bass weighs about 9.25 lbs and the neck is very comfy!! I am diggin' this bass!

I have been playing 4 strings exclusively for a while so it's nice to own a solid playing 5.

Here are some pics!

whoah!!Really,really nice bass,man!!Question:Who's b/up bass was it??
Street-price,new??
One more thing.I truely think,IMHO, thIS body favors the Spector NS body, minus the ever-so-slightly smaller end of the upper-horn.Headstock??A cross between Lakland & Music Man (shall we say a "Lakman" headstock??)
WOW!!I just never paid these basses much mind.Shame on me!!
What's the deal on this bass??Cheap model, expensive model??

The Nathan East preamp on his basses, and in the NE pedal, is maybe the most usable and all-around great sounding eqs I have ever heard. I had a BB614 bass (the very little brother to yours), and it was hard to get a bad sound from it.

I think these hover in the $2300 range new and around $1600 used. Definitely not a cheap bass by any means!

The bass belonged to Lats Kearns from the band "Memento" (personally never heard of them...)
