It's just you.
Would you rather they line up with the strings, or would you rather have them centered on the fretboard? You can't have both.
Actually, they started offering that a few months ago. There's a TBer who has one already and is very happy with it, but I can't recall his username. It would be nice to custom order a 55-94 in 34" scale. I bet they would have enough buyers to justify tooling up for it.
I am just talking about 5 string basses where the dots and the A string go right down the middle of the neck. Please educate me on why you can't have both? Especially for that price. I even see it at times on Alleva Coppolo 5 string basses which cost a pretty penny as well.
This may be too simple an answer to be true but I believe it is because that the A isn't really right in the middle. Because the B and the E are thicker, to maintain even string spacing the A is actually a little further to the treble side on the nut.
I'm looking at a couple of my 5'ers right now and they all do that.
I think you have a very good point. Thanks for educating my on this. It will not bug me as much anymore.
The video said they would!I was hoping they'd make a 5er with a 34" scale.
I like Lakland and all but they should try to push the envelope forward. They have the Skyline series if their US volume cannot handle risk. Then again, in a world where many will get excited over Fender's latest Jazz bass pickguard/color combo while viewing something like EBMM's Gamechanger as unnecessary I guess we dictate where bass design will go and that is our fault.
Late in the video he says sometime late in 2011 for Skyline versions.
