New basses from ESP?

I was browsing ZZounds and noticed they have some new ESP basses in stock.

I've never owned an ESP but those look pretty killer. I tried some kind of ESP bass out once quite awhile ago but it was on the cheaper end of the price spectrum and had a few problems I didn't like. Has anyone given those a try? Maybe an older version?

I find the slight slant on the J pickup curious - seems to me I'd want it the other way - that slant only makes sense for a fanned fret instrument, imho.

Probably depends on the individual piece, but I think I like the burl better:

The crooked J pickup just bugs the heck out of me, though.

Huh. I haven't seen one around the local shops, and I check Zzounds pretty regularly to get an idea of what I can order. They must have just decided to carry them or something.

ESP/LTD sure does put out some SMEXY production Basses. I have Always Loved their different Burl and Spalted models.
