As I've stated many times before, Bergantino was like Beano or GAS-X for me. I don't even bother ever looking at the TB amp classified section any more. Now I can just get back to GAS-ing over basses, as I have no desire for any other rig.

IP 310 all the way. Best SS rig I've ever heard, and not too large, either. All I'm waiting on now is the line driver.

Of course if I ever win the lottery, I'll just have to get an IP212, and, of course, and NV 610 and an appropriate tube head, just for kicks. :D

Hey bart I have a 4003 and I'm wondering how would it sound with an IP cab.

Would you mind sharing with me (us) since you own both?

Neo drivers have proven viable, sometimes change is good... like the move to Sadowsky ;)

Maybe if enough people raise their hands here... Jim will at least take custom orders for the NV 610 & 215 in the future?

Me, I'm set with my new ported, neo driver cab... it's good we can all have unique voices yet still be brothers in groove :bassist:

The Berg HT-112 is currently my favorite cab. I really love the gritty mid-range sound of that cabinet when pushed fairly hard. Amazing for it's size! I'm currently looking to trade my Accugroove Tri-210 for another HT-112 or EX-112. I really like the sound of the Tri-210 but after playing through the mini Berg for a while it's just hard to get excited about carrying around a 55-60 lb. cabinet. Plus I really need to convert the single AG cabinet to 2 cabinets so I can leave them in different rooms at church.

I previously had 2 HT-210 cabinets and they just didn't do it for me. Nice sounding full range cabinet at low volumes but just a bit to loose sounding when pushed at higher volumes.

Watched it this morning. Evan is a tool. Scott is a great guy. I met Scott at NAMM a few years ago when I first hooked up with Eden. My rep introduced us. See him almost every year and he is a very down to earth guy and always good to sit and chat with him. He is funny as hell.

If Jim built an 8 ohm IP210 with a speaker out and an EX212 at 8ohms I would probably be in SERIOUS trouble even with the NV's coming.

Man, this SUCKS! I am hooked and I have never played the NV's or the IP's.

Damn, I am a sucker. Builders must love seeing me coming in.

If he made an EX310 and the IP310 and at 8ohms i'd get rid of my GS112 rig and start saving for that RIGHT NOW lol. When is the NV due?

Ummmmm . . . in a word, incredible. The 310 is a really fast, responsive cabinet, and yet has tremendous low end for a cab with 10s (even for the massive B string on my Bongo), so it really suits the Ric well -- top to bottom. I had the capacitor removed from my bass pickup recently, and it's never sounded better (thicker in the bass), but when I plugged into the Bergie I remembered why I love the Ric sound so much -- tons of growl.

The 4003 pickups are so hot that I can actually bypass the Sansamp and still get a great sound out of the IP 310, though I'm anxiously awaiting the line driver so I can really push it hard. With the Sansamp on, I can get a nice tube-like sound that I've often heard people use with the Ric. Generally I keep the Sansamp off, since I prefer the uncolored sound of the Ric, though. It's a great combination.

The bottom line is the IP series cabs let you hear exactly what your bass sounds like -- good and bad. I'm discovering various things about my technique that need major improvement. In the case of the Ric, I'm getting the classic Ric growl that so many players fall in love with. I dragged out a lot of old Rush albums last week to play along with. :D

On the down side, while my Bongo sounds massive through the Berg, its tone sometimes lacks a little character -- it's almost too clean, where the Ric and the Lakland both have a really nice growl going on. The passive single-coil growl used to sound a little trebly through my old 410 (not enough thick bottom end) and a little sloppy through the 212 (though through both of them together it was OK), but it sounds outrageous through the IP 310, which combines the responsiveness and punch of tens with a thick, meaty bottom end normally associated with larger speakers. My favorite bass to play through it though, is the Steinberger, which has the most amazing tone -- I can see why some people love recording with them, even if they look really dated. I just wish they still made the REAL L-series Steinbergers -- I'd buy a five-string version tomorrow if they did.

An EX 310 would be pretty cool, but I can't tell you how loud the IP 310 alone can get. I can pretty much enrage the entire neighborhood when I open it up. Louder than the older 410/212 rig I had. :D

Yeah . . . part of the difference is that the amp in my old rig was underpowered . . . the 1000W amp in the IP 310 is definitely up to the task, and the 10" drivers can really move air considering there are only three of them. You should try one if you're interested, but it would take a pretty large gig/room to need more sound than the IP 310 puts out. The IP 310 sounds great when you really crank it up, though my neighbors no doubt have a different take on things.
