I have just purchased this bow as a stable mate for my Man D Eugen. It's a beautiful sounding and looking bow in snakewood by Philip Smith in Tasmania Australia. Beautiful, articulate, rich and mellow. And a perfect sized frog for those using the Streicher grip. The Man D. Eugen has a grittier rich tone, perfect for a very sharp crisp staccato. I am looking forward to seeing what I can do with the Phil Smith bow. Initial impressions are that it's lighter, with more articulation and control than I get with the Man D Eugen. But it was twice the price lol. And the tone........the tone......
