New cab for my Micro-VR

Hi guys !
So I decided to buy new cab for my Ampeg Micro-VR (because my current is not even a cab, It's PA speaker), I'm thinking between:
Hartke 4.5 XL and Ashdown ABM 410T - which one in your opinion is better and why ? This is going to be my first cab !
Or there's something better in a same price range ?
(Also is this one good Invalid Link Removed ??? )

Well if you want great quality for a great price I've always been a advocate for Avatar. Great company. Great reliability. Great sound. Great price. Plus you can customize them to your hearts desire :thumbsup:. Both the look and what it's loaded with.

I use a stack of 4x10 neos from them with my SVT and it sounds absolutely huuuuuge!

Plus I got em custom covered to the look I desired. I of course plan to get my head recovered to match:D, but that's gonna be a while.

It seems that many that own the VR amp or VR speaker(s) say that "the VR amp sounds great, and even better together with a different speaker" and "the 210 sounds great, and even better with a different amp" (typically a Porta Flex).
The only logical conclusion is that this is not greatest combo, sound wise, If both amp and speaker works better "on their own".
I have spent a few minutes with the amp/cab combo in a shop and was not impressed at all. Sure, it does a certain vintage style of sound, but not much more.
I would personally look at a more flexible amp, especially since its cool design still does not match your suggested cabs. A PF 350 would be high on my list.

Just realized OP is from Lithuania. Ok, then I suggest you find a good, high sensitivity 4 Ohms 410, used or new. With its very modest output, the Micro VR will not really push any decent brand 410 (new or made in the last 20 years) to its limits. Getting a high power, low sensitivity cab like Acme or SVT-410HLF will not make you happy.

A clean, used cab from Trace Elliot, Peavey, Warwick, EBS or anything loaded with Deltalite II 2510 (I think the Avatars use a tweaked version of that) would be my personal choise over the Hartke and Ashdown.

Yes, that's why I'm talking about "blindely" buying... only decent store is Thomann.de and everyone (here in Lithuania) buying from there. And also my budget is very limited too...

Just checked Thomanns site. They have a Hartke VX 4 10 Which is a paper cone speaker available. The cab handles 300 watts so it should be O K with your head. The Ashdown 4 10 that they have handles 450 watts and is a bit cheaper than the Hartke VX so I think I would go with the Ashdown in your case.

I thinking that way too, because as I said my current cab is not even a cab. Also I can change drivers in a future etc (I'm not sure what enclosure is made from). And also thank you for replay :thumbsup:

If OP is just practicing, the Micro VR and any old cab will do. If he's trying to play gigs etc, he'll need something with more wattage or power. That being said, I vote for the Micro VR cab too. It's tiny but it'll punch above it's weight.
