New cab, sour note?

I broke out my long retired 115 Sunn clone cabinet (1/2 of a 200s) with a jbl D-140 in it. I wanted to see how it sounded after a 20 year layoff. Smiles at first then…. G note in any octave any position led to a harsh distorted tone. Could I have really gigged with that happening? Turns out it was the casters, even on a carpet. Took them off, sounds great!
I don’t know your cab/room situation but it’s remarkable that G is the note that others have had exite nodes, casters, etc

hmmmm. i have a 4x12 acoustic 105 cab that buzzes in B .. i figured it was the inner bracing needed reglued possibly...

Take the amp outside and test in free air. That's the only way to get away from the resonances of the room.

Yes but then you're dealing with the resonance of the universe. Something else entirely.
