Thank you for sharing. I've not had the opportunity to play a Carl Thompson bass. Honestly that style of bass never appealed to me.

Yes, I purchased that instrument on TB Classifieds. I've always wanted an old-school CT instrument, and it's so rare for them to show up for sale.
It's ridiculous that somebody with obviously NO SKILLS decided to modified this bass. They should be practicing on scrap wood rather than an instrument.
But, I am paying Carl to repair the damage and put some semblance of normalcy back to his instrument. I will post pics when the work is done.
thank you for vids. never cared about CT basses and guess will never play one, but carl reminds me sooo much of my grandfather, who was working woods, too. made my first instrument as the matter of fact. anyway, carl has the same expressions, same hands as my grandfather. seems like a very kind / mild person.
