New D'Addario clip on tuner impresses me.

I just received the new D'Addario Nexxus 360 Rechargeable clip on tuner from Amazon for $30. I've been using their Micro tuners for a long time on my tenor and bass ukes. I loved that the screen could be oriented to four directions, but with playing outdoors often now, the screen is difficult to see, and I had to always carry batteries.

I then found the KLIQ EcoTuner that is larger, brighter, rotating screen, USB rechargeable, but it didn't lock in very well, constantly jumping sharp and flat. Then a couple of days ago I found the Nexxus; small, USB rechargeable, rotating bright screen, folds down, and bought two. Works way better than the others for me.

Different strokes, different folks. I had that tuner too and didn't care for it much. (Actually, I still have it but don't trust it enough to gig with it.) The accuracy was perfectly fine, but it wouldn't hold a charge all that well in comparison with my Snarks and TCs. And if it goes out on you in the middle of a gig, you can't get it back up and running quickly, whereas with a battery-powered tuner, you just swap in another battery, and it's a matter of seconds. But it does tune pretty well!

I always keep a second tuner with me, even battery ones, don't want to take the time to swap batteries. The Nexxus has a battery indicator and I'm so used to charging all my various wireless gear before a gig, adding this is no big deal.
