New Darkglass Element Test at GC

I just left Guitar Center after trying to test a Darkglass Element. The button to change cab sims very finicky. Tried to pair with IPhone. I downloaded the manual and tried to pair according to the manual. Don’t know if it was just a flake unit or needed the firmware updates. I left more frustrated because I was wanting one. Any thoughts or other suggestions. Looking for a headphone amp to practice with. Would like an aux in.

Very interesting. What cabs are you using. Can you do the iPhone into the aux in for play along.
Currently using the Eden 410 sim, love that gritty mid-range !

You get a selection of cabs when you purchase the unit, and the manufacturer sometimes gives away some of them for free

This piece of gear is the main component of my signal chain, since it provides the power amp + cab (and mics) characteristic contributions to the sound ; you can then pair it with the preamp(s) of your choice (or use the included one), and build from there.
The built-in tuner and especially the EQ and reverb are really nice to have.
Aux in does exactly that, use the headphones out from your iPhone.
Have fun :bassist:

I have an element and I have no issues pairing with Bluetooth. I often switch between my phone an ipad or my computer (paired or through the aux in) and it has had no problems.

I agree I don’t love the feel of the button, but you get used to it.
I just bought an open boxes new unit from GC today great price. Downloaded the suite and set all of the presets. When unplugged I can’t change the settings with the touch sensor, nor when I hold the touch sensor I can’t get the pairing mode w IPhone. Am I missing something or just gonna take it back for another unit.

Are you just touching it, or pressing it? It needs a good press (to avoid accidental activations).

Dereck any recommendations for an SVT sound
For the cab sim? I’m not sure which (if any) of the built in sims are SVT-like, but you can always use your own IR. I do recommend trying out some of the other Artist cabsims. I’m a fan of Jon Stockman’s, especially his 4x10. Also, make sure to switch on the bass power amp sim to get a bit more oomph.
