New digitech whammy vs. other octave pedals?!?

I'm thinking of getting the new digitech bass whammy and wanted to know how it compares to pedals specifically for octave.

Also mxr bass fuzz vs. ehx deluxe big muff vs. way huge swollen pickle or another similarly priced fuzz

What are your thoughts?

I recently acquired an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe and I really like it. The octave really fattens up my sound during some parts of the songs I play with my band. The mid boost is also very nice to have and you can select and boost the frequency to your own liking on the inside of the pedal. The effect gives a low growl to my sound that I find very useful, especially when I boost the "growl" knob and slightly roll down the "girth" knob. Hope this helps!

I have the new bass whammy and like it. Its kind of a "fun" pedal or me. It'll probably stay on my board for a while even though i mainly use it when I'm goofing off.

The whammy does octave down, octave up, and two octaves up.

The negatives about the pedal are its big size, it needs a lot of power in comparison to most octave pedals, 1300ma if i remember right.

None of these are really an issue for me because i only have a few pedals on my board.

The B-wham doesn't need 1300mA, I powered mine with a Mooer Micro Power along with several other pedals and it was fine. I think it actually only draws about 250mA but even that might be overshooting it.

To me I view the polyphonic octaves as totally different beasts than the monophonic octaves. The polyphonic ones such as the Digitech Bass Whammy, EHX Micro POG and Earthquaker Devies Pitch Bay have different characteristics compared to the monophonic ones like the Boss OC-2, Aguilar Octamizer, and MXR BOD which to me are a little dirtier and have more attitude so to speak. Not saying you can't cop those vibes from the other ones but the monophonic ones just seem to exude those vibes a bit more naturally.

Personally I want to have at least one of each on my board for different situations!

I'll definitely look into getting a monophonic as well but I think I'm going to get the whammy it looks so damn fun. Has anyone tried the new bass whammy on guitar??
They do look fun. I haven't been able to try one out yet but believe me it's been on GAS list since I heard about it. I want one bad. I also want a monophonic one too but I'm having a hard time deciding between the Aguilar Octamizer and the MXR BOD. The new 3 Leaf Octabvre looks amazing too!!!
