Really? $2400? You could start another entire thread on the amps that would run circles around this thing when it comes to tone and options for 2400 dollars.

I have no idea who's driving that Harman truck, but it's headed in a very strange direction.

it looks like fun but i wont go running out to sell my current whammy for that. +1 to "its huge." the tool effects arent important to me but i do agree they should put it there, because thats why everyones paying so much for the bass whammy..

The M series let's you pick anything you want in a 4 octave range for both harmony and whammy. That's a far better feature than drop tuning and polyphony IMO.

If Digitech doesn't see the appeal when people are spending over $600 for a used version of one of their pedals with that setting, you have to question what they pay their R&D department for.

Yeah, they're going for 600, but how many change hands per year? Like 50 or 100 in the world? How big of a market do you really think there is for the bass whammy? We've all had this argument a million times here, but I still don't think that a lot of TBFX realizes how small of a market they represent. Digitech wouldn't bother putting in R&D + marketing + production materials for a new bass whammy unless they thought they could sell a lot of them, like tens of thousands of units. And I feel confident saying that the market for them is much smaller than that.

And I disagree, polyphony is HUGE. If the HOG allowed you to do shifts or harmonies other than 1-step and 1-octave, I would still have one.

I think it sounds pretty good. Maybe not totally convincing when playing clean, but he almost always is using distortion when the Morpheus is on. It really is indispensible, because we cover tunes from standard all the way down to A, and everything in between. He would need to bring 5 or 6 guitars to every gig if he didn't have it.

The Morpheus DropTune gets really muddy with hot basses and didn't track very well with fast playing. I tried one in hopes I could drop pitch and returned it. I hear they work great with guitar tracking tho.

I agree- polyphony is everything to me in a pitch shifter. Everyone plays chords- even "basic" basslines involve playing double stops every now and then.

Agreed, that is the coolest thing about this pedal. Though at the price point, the Boss PS-6 might be better. I still think its pretty cool, atleast Digitech is trying to advance the whammy series.

Here's the thing, It would be great to have the ability to play 5th up oct up harmony. what would be even better is if I had full harmony control and was able to program in any harmony settings I wanted. 5th-6th b3rd-b7. I want more control, not to detune my whole guitar.

I personally don't play Tool songs, but there's a good number of bassists who do or could find use for an octave+5th in their own music. There's no need for you to be a snugglemuffin over something a lot of people would like to have in a pedal that DigiTech could easily put in.

It's funny, I've created so many different melodies using the weird or funny sounding harmonies on my whammy. My favorite has to be the Fifth up/Sixth up and the Sixth up/Seventh up. Dissonant and glitchy sounds pretty neat lol.

He was being a bit of a t**t, but I think a lot of people here overestimate the clamor for these things. Surf around on HCFX, TGP, etc., and you don't see ANY complaints about missing intervals and harmonies in the whammy. The main complaints you see there are TBP and polyphony, which Digitech has addressed both in the new Whammy.

I saw one of these in action yesterday and the one thing that really bummed me out about it was you can't get that Tom Morello Digi-noise sound anymore. Which I guess was a problem but I thought its what gave the whammy its uniqueness.
