New Dingwall John Taylor Signature

Interesting twist for this signature is a Rupert Neve designed preamp, which is apparently the first ever made just for bass. The model pictured is a limited edition color way. The standard colors will be: Black, Vintage White and Seafoam.

I'm most interested in the preamp, since it seems fairly standard besides that. It officially drops tomorrow at NAMM, so hopefully we get some sound samples.

That explains why I own 6 vintage Aria SB’s! That super punchy, growling midrange is just so…..chefs kiss. Fills the pocket like nothing else.

It was something like $3,500. Definitely a premium, but hopefully that's only the price for the limited edition design.

I wonder if the Afterburner/Super-style bridge is going to be the new standard on all of the Chinese-made basses?

I'm also VERY interested to hear the onboard Neve preamp - especially if it becomes available for aftermarket installs.

I was underwhelmed by the RNDI. But I use Antelope Audio, Audient and UAD and maybe used to their coloration.

But this is good news!!! What's next? Pultec type EQ on a bass

Yeah, I'm so used to Dingwall 5- and 6-strings, seeing a 4-string always seems underwhelming. Like, why bother?

But this bass looks pretty cool. The website shows it being a 36" scale E string, which would be interesting.
