Alrighty... FINALLY!!! Now that the "cat is out of the bag..." I can now say that I was lucky enough to check out the prototype, backstage at last years R'n'R Hall of Fame induction. The paint I was told, is modeled after the Rio album cover. See for yerself. And yes... I CAN KEEP A SECRET. 
My 4 string Dingwall ABZ is tuned C standard like that. And I have a detuner on it for drop Bb. Sounds huge and powerful, not floppy and muddy.
Can't wait for a sound clip. I usually don't go for rad designs, but there's something about this one I can warm up to.

That Black P-bass just blew my mind. I never knew that existed but I need to find one now.
I've got one very similar on order, due in November. 4-String Super P, black with black pickguard, maple neck. Mine will have black blocks, though.
I'd be happy about it, but I guess I've invested in a Diet Oreo, eh?

There is a Super P4 on Reverb right now. Not black, though... Trans white.

Wish I could play Dingwalls. They’re really good. But I get so lost on fanned frets that I just can’t deal with them. I suppose it’s something I could adjust to in time, but I don’t want to.

I'll never forget that album when it came out. it was something else.
the bass seems nice but the aria pro II will always be the bass associated with Rio.
funny, growing up in South Texas, Rio had a different connotation. I would listen to the album trying to understand what they really meant.

I had to try a Dingwall 5, I have to say I felt the tone options weren’t as wide as I was hoping, I was very underwhelmed, I sent it back, but they look cool.
Clownish money grab. I know when I think Dingwall, John Taylor pops right into my head.

Coolio. A genuine bass player, gets a very cool sig bass. He deserves it!
I find it cynically amazing how quickly Neve's name has been stretched so quickly after he died. A Neve "preamp" inside a bass? Can't wait to see how heavy the audio transformer is in that... ;-)

Nice! Your Super P on the right is even more similar to my order than the last one I commented on. Mine is the same, except it's a P (not PJ) and I'm currently going with black hardware. Otherwise, just like yours - black on black, maple with black blocks. It's nice to get a preview of mine - looks sweet!
Waiting for the one-piece bridge to be released for the combustions/ng’s. This brings me hope.
