The way I read the info in the link/announcement was that only the color is limited run. I'm frequently wrong, so...
Darn , all sold out.........I'm crushed I can't buy one ........I might have to eat those three bags of Sweetwater candy that's been sitting around awhile to get over the G.A.S. pain .
Thx - the two on the outsides, both have gone to great homes of awesome TB'ers. (Regret selling both TBH). I still have the middle one. Lifer.
It does seem that so many of these limited editions (doesn't matter what industry) are bought up by flippers. It would be nice to have a system so that fans have a chance to buy within 72 hours even!
If there is a 5-string versioni, I may have to get myself a Dingwall!
I’ll read the specs when I’m not using my phone, but at a glance, all it needs is some sort of Patrick-Nagle-esque graphic touches and it’ll be hungry like the wolf while twisting through a dusty land.
Alrighty... FINALLY!!! Now that the "cat is out of the bag..." I can now say that I was lucky enough to check out the prototype, backstage at last years R'n'R Hall of Fame induction. The paint I was told, is modeled after the Rio album cover. See for yerself. And yes... I CAN KEEP A SECRET.

There's one on Reverb right now. Of course by the time you pay for the taxes, shipping, duty fees and whatever else you might as well just order an ABZ. I bet the Neve preamp will be an option on custom models, but nobody has any idea what it sounds like right now.

Im not that offended that Dingwall have a few limited edition artist models as it feels like the way the guitar/bass industry has been going for decades. Fender just put out another ‘artist model’ strat for that guy from the strokes and while I’m guilty of not checking the spec I’m guessing it’s just another strat? I think for a company like Dingwall who have been slogging away for 35yrs making quite niche instruments they’re finally getting recognition for their unique take on basses and an industry which has been dominated by fender shaped instruments for eons.
I’ve owned a couple of Dingwall basses and my favourite somewhat ironically as it’s a fender shaped model was the Super P as it struck the right balance of comfortable scale length, feel and tone for me. I’d have another in a heartbeat.
I think it’s great to see these limited models even though we’re now in the era of the flip market and these models become quite hard to get. My understanding is that they all sold out because they went to dealers rather than private buyers. Bass Direct in the U.K. had 10 but I now believe they’re all provisionally sold.
Finally the eq is the thing that has piqued many interest but if the lows are set at 20Hz that feels really too low

Yesterday, they showcased a Z3 on their social media, and it had been built with the Neve electronics.
maybe I missed this but what exactly will the Neve preamp do that other preamps won't do?
More importantly, will it help me grow a better mullet?
The Nagel-esqe design of the pink bass is very nice. The other colors that flash in the JT Dingwall video are equally visually beautiful. I'm not sure if the bass is really something worth purchasing unless you're a fan of either him or Dingwall but I'm certain you can get your 80s fix with the visually stunning guitar.
I'd say the bass is sorta mixing the sounds of the sb 1000 and the visuals and drop d of the Kubicki.
It does seem hard to visualize paunchy 50+ year olds prancing around a stage with a pink guitar as the price puts the instrument in the realm of those financially secure.
