Honestly, I'm in the mood for something different. Believe it or not I like it. (Never mind that I bet it looks unreal when a black light hits it.)

I'm sure I'm in the minority here. But what say you?

Not my preferred color but you know I like my NG

I've grown tired of swirled finishes, can't do them any more. If you like it that's all that matters. I'd bet the ladies in the audience like it.

If I look at my basses (1 x honeyburst, 2 x swamp ash natural gloss) it's obvious that I have a preference for the understated...but this one is so outrageous that I can't help to love it!

I would have to be a hell of lot better player to pull that one off! However, I think it looks pretty sharp! Using the swirl idea I wonder how an ocean blue with maple neck would look?

I like it. However there are 2 issues: 1) resale value 2) quality.
I had a NG2 in Purple Swirl. The bass was gorgeous. But, it felt cheap and had bridge issues. After 6 months I sold it and lost over $600. Never again. But, I still think they are a good looking bass. But that's about it.

Sheldon will do well with this limited run and I think there are plenty out there who love these. Swirls ain't my thing...I'm more interested in the lovely sparkle finishes he's rocking.

It's a Dingwall. And pink is cool. That alone makes it worth getting if the asking price was exceptionally good. However, that particular pink finish really takes a lot away from the Dingwall aura IMO.

Every time I see a swirl finish I have visions of some kid with three cans of paint and a garbage can full of water standing out in the family garage. To me a swirl is the tie-dye of the new millennium. Arts & crafty rather than artsy.

Resale value wont be a concern on this bass. . I've never lost $100 on a dingwall and being a limited run it will maintain its value.

It sounds like you had a bad experience which is extremely rare. Proper communication with Dingwall and they are prompt to correct any legitimate issues. That said, the bridge pieces are hipshot not dingwall.


Its not the scheme for me but I have a "respect" for those that rock it!

I love it, it is so early 90s. It reminds me the T-shirts I was wearing as a kid in 1991 or 1992.

True. All my Dingwalls are worth the same or more than when I purchased. I think the swirl colors appeal to a slightly smaller market, so that could be an issue. 100 gigs on my NG3 in the past year says the build quality is just fine.
