WHAT! How did I mess this thread . . . I have been looking forward to seeing this thing since you described it to me 6-7 months back. It turned out absolutly amazing! but then again all of Sheldon's basses are amazing. . . . makes me want to place an order for that Z3 I have been dreaming of.

PS: The radiused edges on the pickup routs an neck pocket may be subtle in pictures but it was honestly the first thing I noticed when I recieved my Dingwall. So much attention is put into the fine detail of these instruments.

One of the most interesting things I've noticed, is the effect it has on people who have never played a 6 string bass or a fanned fretted bass. First they are in shock to come across a Dingwall,(as if they've found the Loch Ness Monster :) ) let alone a 6 string one and once those who have not been afraid to touch it and I mean all,have fell in love with every aspect of it.

Haha you hit the nail on the head my friend. I still remember being intimidated by that beautiful piece you offered me when I was buying that bass from Billy Low. That bass literally changed the way I think about bass playing, in the blink of an eye. Thanks again for that pleasure.

I have a question about the backside of the rasta bass. It's a 5 string, but on the back I only see 4 ferrules. Can someone explain that to me?

Fantastic looking bass Burning, its always cool to see a well executed thought come to life.

Those aren't ferrules. They are large allen head bolts screwed in to the underside of the bridge.

Correct. Its designed to have the firmest mounting to the body. The bolts mount to the bridge sub-plate which is aluminum.
