Hey WhiteDK, you don't need to order the enclosure first. Hammond has PDF's of all their enclosures and the knockoffs from 4Site and others are identical in size.

I stocked up on 2SK30's and 170's and even J201's.

We're going to be collecting these things like vintage tubes and just wait for the paranoia and marketing to catch on..... $30.00 for a vintage J201? Maybe..

You could mod it to use MosFets and then you might not need the led clipping stages or you could switch them in and out. MosFets clip a little different.

Do you think that this will be an "always on" kind of pedal for you?

I haven't tried it in a live setting, but I'm certain it'll be in constant use. I run my bass into the mains with my amp acting solely as a monitor. I'm not a fan of direct bass sound so this pedal is exactly want i wanted as far as sound coloring. It has that low end punch you'd expect from an ampeg.

The LED's are for limiting before the transistors to avoid harsh clipping.

I just finished mine, using a pcb and layout from Rick (Frequency Central) himself (awesome, btw). I'm really happy with it, I just need to put it into an enclosure when I figure out what to use. I also want to experiment with the tone stack and possibly using 2n5458s.
