Glad to hear that you're diggin' the 1580 with the GK. I'm still in the "honeymoon" stage with my SD800. I'll wait and post my thoughts on it after a couple more weeks.
I can say that it is crazy light weight! In the Markbass gigbag, it weighs less than an empty 2 space rack!

What MM said: 3/4" plywood. And if I had not purchased the 1580, then I'd be playing the 1503. For a few reasons I purchased the 1580 instead. Not the least of which is prior ownership of a couple of really nice Dr. bass cabs.
I'd really like to A/B the Carvin with the Dr. Bass. Maybe Tom B. and I can hook up on one of his ventures down south to the big city.
And Matt, did you get your 1580/1260 setup yet? I was on the fence about a "regular" or neo 12 in the 1260 so I just flipped a coin. (Well, not physically flipped a coin. More of a mental flippage.) Love your input on how the two cabs match up.
Three months ago I was close to getting a 1260 for smaller venues and to combine with my Goliath III for "da big ones" but found a good deal on a new GK neo 112 instead.
Then I got mesmerized reading GB's LS1503 thread and got one then modded with the KLite. It is a great cab but if I were starting over, I think I'd go with the BL1580 mainly for the 3/4" ply and 8" mid plus the Duratex finish.
I'd bet these cabs will sound very similar (after the KLite mod to the Carvin) as they are closely matched in cabinet volume and share similar design philosophy.
There were some shipping delays. I'm scheduled (according to FedEx who, by the way, has been really terrible about shipment tracking information) to receive them Monday.
Everybody complains about UPS but I've never had a problem with them. FedEx Ground on the other hand has been really poor by comparison: slow, inaccurate on line information, inaccurate telephone information, etc.
I could have picked up these cabs yesterday, but FedEx couldn't tell me where they were for nearly a full day. Anyway...I'll have pics up on Wednesday. I'll be out of town Monday and Tuesday.

I really did love my Concert Series cabs, especially the 3 way 1x15. They were the best sounding cabs I'd ever played through in 20 years of playing everything from pawn shop to "boutique" level cabs. Howevery, they were just too heavy and a little too bulky for me. I'm sure others would sling them around no problem, but I was looking for something a little more compact and easy to load in the back of my car.
Physically, the 1580 is in the same size as the 2260 but will be several pounds lighter. It will also be significantly lighter than my previous Concert Series cab.
Glad to hear that you're liking your Neo 2260. I'm sure you've tried tilting it back or putting it on top of a milk crate or something like that. I'll bet if you got it a couple feet off the ground and a little closer to chest level that you'd probably self inflict some hearing loss!
After the "honeymoon" period with the cabs, I will give a general comparison to the other cabs that I've owned over the last 20 years (SWR, Aguilar, Acme, Euphonic Audio, etc.).
Assuming you've heard a 2460, how does it compare to the other cabs you've owned or gigged with?
