I'll be using it as my di for this Theate gig next month, maybe in front of my tecamp puma amp sometimes for other situations. Curious to see how it fares with the lifeline and troll.
Robin,
let us know how it works. Especially with a soundclip, if possible. I also have a lifeline and a cheap ribbon mic from GC that I picked up to experiment with. Would like to get a troll when I can talk myself into spending some more $$..
IMPORTANT NOTE: You probably already know this, but PHANTOM POWER CAN DAMAGE A RIBBON MIKE. This presents an interesting situation with the EDB-2 in that there is a 3 position switch for the XLR. The switch does NEED TO BE ON in order for the XLR input to be 'connected', however, you want to take care NOT to push the slider switch to the 3rd position which would activate the phantom power. I was a little paranoid about this so I took out my trusty needle nose pliers and some coat hanger wire and 'McGivered' a little 'stop' which allows the switch to move into the 'ON' position but DOES NOT allow it to move to the phantom power position. I enclosed some pics just for giggles. If you're not paranoid and just a bit cautious you should have no problem. I just felt better with a 'failsafe'.
Again, I'd love to hear a soundclip with the Lifeline and the Troll (maybe one in each stereo channel???)
Thanks and good luck.
