Are the specs misleading or the photo? It wouldn't be the first time that EHX was lazy with their paperwork. It's clear that some documentation is false. I don't think I've seen one of their pedals come out bigger than their photos advertised.

I guess that's true, it's impossible to know until we see it in person whether the ad copy was right or the photo was. I kind of just figured that they took the 22 caliber photo, Photoshopped a new graphic onto it so they'd have a photo for press. Then the manufacturing/PCB design guys decided it was necessary to go to a bigger box after the graphic was done. These photos are generally mockups and not photos of the final device.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see. MSRP of $193 translates to what actual retail price? $150?

Well, headroom just means that there is enough voltage swing available to not clip to the power rails. So there is a headroom parameter for both preamp and poweramp (and anything else your signal is running through).

So I guess what you're asking is, will this thing be able to put out 44 clean watts? Probably not. The 22 Caliber was designed to distort at some point in its volume range (though supposedly the distortion is soft-clipping rather than the nasty hard clipping of overdriving many solid state amps). So I'd guess that the 44 won't sound clean at max volume, but then again, no amp does. If they get them at GC, I will definitely test it out on bass and report back.

I'm liking the idea of a small pedal train(maybe a mini?), with one of them 44 Calibers, and a Tech 21 Leeds + VT Bass, setup, maybe a delay and a fuzzbox or od, plus a cab, more and more, sounds like the prefect jam/practice/studio setup! :hyper:

If I got a regular, or larger pedalboard, I could add in an Oxford, Carbon Copy, Bass Envelope Filter, and one or two other neat treats.

Or, maybe two minis, one as amp/rig sim, one as fx board....

The new 44 is the same size box as the 22.
Must be a typo in the release.
The power supply is a little bit bigger in size as extra current is needed.

I played the new Germanium Muff today and the distortion side is SWEET!
