New Electro-Harmonix Ravish Sitar

From the sound and controls, it looks like one should be able to get that Space Station soundcloud out of it.

I can see it not being a bass-centric pedal, but guitarists have been looking for this sound out of a pedal for a while. I'll probably pick up one just because of the sitar sound, but I suspect there are other sounds just waiting to be found out around the thing's boundaries.

it looks kind of cool. but im not too excited..

doesent seem to do anything that usefull. they all sound like similar synth patches, and not like what that video above says they sound like.

and its EHX, so it'll probably stop working before you figure out what to do with these sounds :hiding:

Come on now, Groooooove. You are so biased against EHX at this point that you probably wouldn't take it even is someone was giving it to you.:p

A friend of mine recently asked me why so many bass players use effects if it all just sounds like a bass. It's funny to hear that same idea here within a day. *laugh*

I would venture that the sounds are like what the audio presents them as sounding like (as opposed to audio which isn't representative of what it can do), and that video did give some very good ideas of things it can do. I already heard a few applications for which I would want to use it.

Wow... a shimmer effect which allows you to program to which pitches it will react, modulation on the shimmer/verb, pedal pitch bend (not a big deal for a bass player perhaps, but useful if you have three or more hammered dulcimers like me), and so on.

I guess it's fortunate that EHX isn't presenting this as the next great bass pedal, but it's humorous to read reactions which imply it was presented as just such a thing....
