New Empress Compressor MKII

Forgive me, as this question has been explored to death on here, but I still don’t fully get it. Does the SC HP dial only function when it is being triggered by an external source like a kick drum, or is it still functional when you’re just inputting your bass signal to the input jack?

It operates without any external source plugged in. It's a very useful feature, to keep the lows from causing the compressor to squash. Experiment with the knob, while you play your open bottom string and/or roll some bass boost up if you have an active bass.

Just jumping on this old thread to ask if anyone else has had issues with the 9v power socket? Mine failed after half a dozen uses. I returned it to Thomann but as I had for more than 30 days, it's had to be returned for repair. But that's nearly 2 months ago and it's still being worked on. If it's a common issue, I don't want to risk going that long without a compressor again and look at a Cali76.

I bought mine just after it came out and have had no issues with the power socket. I'm not aware of it being reported by anyone else either, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Consider this a bump for additional responses.
