New Epiphone Korina Explorer Bass

In the early 2000's I used to have an Epiphone Explorer Bass in black with a white pickguard. From what I remember it was very long, the neck felt really thick, major neck dive and the length and neck dive made it feel heavy as well.

I got rid of it for all of those reasons and everytime I see pictures of me playing it, I kinda regret parting with it. Seeing the pictures of the new Korina has me intrigued again. But man it can be a difficult bass to play.

That was my feeling as well when I had the clearcoated version. Maybe you have really long arms and the reach won't be a bother, but try one of you can before shelling out the pesos.

Regarding the wood species. Thank you but I think like a lot of players and I include myself I’m thinking of the yellow orangy natural finish as a color rather than a specific wood species. It would be tough to identify the specific wood for any of the lesser priced instruments. Be it trade names or models or finish be it Gibson, Fender, Rickenbacker, or whichever its all about marketing. You cant shoe a horse with a Rickenbacker horseshoe pickup.
