I’ve been looking at Fender American Pro II basses these past couple of weeks and noticed today they’re 10% off everywhere. I don’t usually see Fenders on sale unless the line is being replaced. Anyone knows what’s going on?

Based on this you would have expected an announcement at NAMM…bu nothing. Maybe second half of this year? They due. They were running a huge 20% sale on many models on the fender website around the holidays.
Big difference between a 1951 or even a 1957 P bass and a 2024 P bass.New colors, possibly, and new name. Same basses. Fender learned this from automakers in the 50s and 60s. Change the color, change the chrome, same car.
It's this holiday we have in the US where you buy more stuff, much like our other holidays.Or not... I was just on the Fender US site. It's a "President Day Sale." Did not know that was a thing... we don't have a president... yet (Canada).
I had a brown sunburst first thing this morning...my fault for crushing a Philly cheese steak before bed time.Hopefully Brown sunburst.
I’m so incredibly tired of Sunburst.Think they’ll bring back sunburst?
Here ya go. No thanks needed.I had a brown sunburst first thing this morning...my fault for crushing a Philly cheese steak before bed time.
Unless it for image or stage presence... (what have you), what does the finish have to do with it? Fender is VERY aware of product placement. If it's for recording and not stage work , does it matter? I have been surprised so many times when a band goes on "telly" ( I'm not British) and the bassist is playing a sunburst P Bass even when there is barely any bass on the track....think Saturday Night LIve. Fender has a long reach. As in , " here play this on Saturday NIght LIve, or in your music video and it's free ...plus here's some cash. " Am I wrong here? What's more, I don't see other makers pushing as hard for product placement in in TV and Movies. I 've rarely seen a MM, or G&L. Last time I remember a MM bass on TV was in a late 80's Sade video.I’m so incredibly tired of Sunburst.
Was really bad a few years ago when everybody thought they needed to be James Jamerson.
Fender announced a new sparkly sunburst on the Player II models this year. Oh great, this time the turd glitters.
Seriously, it’s time to go.
But sadly it’s probably tLhe&ir top seller.Ilo
