New Fender CS Phil Lynott sig bass

Spotted on Fenders Instagram from summer NAMM.

Not sure what is unique about it other than the mirror pickguard that would cost you $50 to slap on a black MIM or MIA p bass, but I thought it was cool.

I just saw a pre-order on Reverb for $12,500 for this hunk of wood and metal. You gotta have a lot more dollars than sense to pay that much for a Custom Shop bass.

And they made 60 of them!
Other than that, it's almost as nice as the Squier Chris Aiken bass!

All basses are hunks of wood and metal (and plastic), so... where does that leave us?

Value is entirely subjective.

I wonder what the Lynott Estate has to say about this or were they consulted?

Well, Phil was a better bass player than Roger, plus Roger's sig model isn't even that accurate. SPB-3? Black bridge? Black knobs?
Still, this Lynott signature model looks fairly plain and too expensive for what it actually is.
