Love that new Tele -imagine it with two Darkstars instead of the mudbuckers...).
Just wish they'd include a version without the plastic hunk of useless pickguard that hides that beautiful finish.

That would be really cool. I'm also not a big fan of the pickguard on the tele bass.

I think yall may be missing the point on the "modern" piece. They are called Modern Player Series. I think MODERN refers to the PLAYER not the BASS.

Disappointed in the Tele. I agree with some of the earlier posts: it seems a little like the Lotto bass.

I would be in love with that Tele if they had done 2 things differently:
-Rosewood board
-Stacked J pickup in a 60's Jazz bridge position, and not the second mudbucker.

Looks like I'm gonna have to have that bass made myself.

The MP Jazz is on MusiciansFriend right now at a price of $500. Same as the Blacktop P (and J).

Gotta say, the Black transparent in the pic looks pretty sharp. But that's just me...

that's the only reason i could think. possibly people complaining about wanting the jazz neck/body with the BT precision pick up config got to fender already?? idk.

Clearly they thought there was demand. Personally I like the Jazz body and even neck a bit more, even if it's too tapered for me. So I'd definitely like the jazz version more than the P version.

I love my Blacktop Jazz and was considering getting a Blacktop P body on E Bay and Getting a jazz neck. I don't care for P necks. But now I want this jazz in sunburst. There will be a way for this Canuck to make it mine, but I still have to figure it out. I hope they release here in the land of Ice and Snow

From what I've read, I think their going to be Chinese.

They are Chinese made which has lead to people saying they are nothing more than rebranded Squiers at a higher price point. They are cheaper than MIM basses but slightly more than CV/VM basses.

I would like to see a few up close and if i like what i see then i might get the tele bass.
