Hi,
Just did my own install of a Full Circle on a New Standard Cleveland (hybrid). I'm not very handy, so I'm quite proud I got it right, first try. :^)
My piezo experience runs to an
- Underwood I had on a plywood around 1990,
and the horrible
- Polytone that that replaced; the custom
- Realist on my Eminence semi-acoustic db; and the
- Planet Wing I've been using since I got this Cleveland.
This is not a bright bass, and since I like old-school thud with low sustain, I use dark-ish strings, too.
I thought a Full Circle would give me a little more definition.
Score! First impression (low volume in my apartment) I really like it.
With my bass and amp I've chosen to have the wheel/wire set at 45° off from parallel to the strings -- i.e, pointed at a corner of the bridge foot. Adjustor thread is down -- in other words, FC's hot face up towards strings, as per normal.
I back-to-backed it with the Planet Wing, and I realize there's some nasal prominence in the mids/high-mids of the PW that I don't care for, which is absent in the FC. The FC highs are better (for me), too.
But I'm hearing a bit of low-mid resonance -- at least with my amp, in my living room. We'll see if that clears up at a rehearsal or gig.
Overall I'm stoked! :^))
