I have a buddy at our local GC...gonna see about trying a couple of these new basses...maybe the G3 as well, though I have a bad feeling about the pickups, compared to the old ones![]()
I have the new G-3 the pickups and switching are very good, love it's tone!
That's good to know! Have you compared the reissue to a vintage G3? Curious, as a friend of mine that worked for Gibson said the Grabber reissue didn't really sound like an old Grabber. To be fair, I never heard the reissue

Vegas, What was your impression of the Midtown?
Thanks
Siggy
I dug the hell out of the Midtown, to be honest. It sounds to me like the "mudbucker" is a total redesign. Gone is the boominess of yesteryear...replaced by an authoritative low-mid grunt that actually has a lot of detail and clarity. Out of all the Gibby's I tried, the voice of this guy was my favorite.

My wife is gonna kill me.........
Thanks for the review!

bassgod0dmw said:The reissue G3 is actually pretty awesome. I spent some time with one in a store a few weeks back and came away impressed. I'd love to get one, but that means something has to go first.
The 2 I played I didn't like but that could be because I love my Grabber to death. Bidding for an '81 G3 right now that im looking forward to owning
I'm supposed to get mine in 2 weeks. I'll post a review after I get it.
