I have heard Gibson has contempt for they're customers, these are not I repeat not my words but I do wonder,I did own a Gibson EBO and liked it but at Gibson prices I should have loved it beyond belief,What should they do anyway copy Fender? I like the Gibson bass that looks like a 335 but I will always when looking.for a Gibson style bass go for the Epi and modify it using all the best pieces tuner pickups etc, then have a top shelf set up then have that Gibson with a few extra G's for a amp so yeh Gibson needs to get it together,

Do you have one yet? Very curious...personally, I think they look really interesting...of course style is subjective to say the least...I'd certainly check one out

Contempt is the wrong word, but they certainly treat bassists as an afterthought.
A fun game to play in the Gibson plant is "Where's the bass." The last time I was there, I saw less than 10 basses in production......in the whole factory.

Babicz is a great guy glad he is doing well I bought one of his first bridges I don't like the bass saw it in Bass player Mag
I had a chance to play one of these at Bass Player Live! today (as well as the G-3 reissue, Non-Reverse Thunderbird, and Midtown) and I gotta say it's tonally probably the best bass Gibson has ever done. The look of it still hasn't quite grown on me, but with its push/pull coil taps and punchy pickups it's authoritative, punchy, and really versatile!
Even though I'm not a "Gibson fanboy" by any stretch of the imagination, color me impressed!!

I have a buddy at our local GC...gonna see about trying a couple of these new basses...maybe the G3 as well, though I have a bad feeling about the pickups, compared to the old ones 
Hm, well if the messages are for the better, I wouldn't mind trying one.
I guess I'm still a bit nonplussed by the body shape and pickup choice, but if it sounds and feels good, then maybe it's a winner.
