New GK 800 Legacy!

That is why I might like having the compressor in the amp, it's one less thing.

I am if it delivers the goods (which we have had very good tone reports so far) and with description of how GK improved construction robustness of these new heads has me very attracted. To me a lot of the Class D stuff appears to be very cheaply made mass produced crap that aint gonna be here for the long haul YMMV.

I would think you are in the know more than the rest of us.

It would seem to me the CX line would be around for a while.
GK hasn't traditionally been a here today gone tomorrow kind of company.
How long has the RB series been around?

Sadly I think folks have not yet witnessed how good the CX cabs are and are running out and buying much more expensive cabs because someone told them to.

It is nice to have an on board compressor, my Mesa Mpulse 600 has a pretty good one that's actually usable, works great! 20180717_171640.jpg 20180717_171640-1.jpg

One reason I sold all my heavy gear a few months ago was the endless rising of shipping costs. My GK 550 Fusion amp (40 lbs with options) cost $97 for FedEx Ground Nashville to Sacramento, CA. And that's with no insurance. It was double packed. My GK 2x12 Neo cab (58 lbs with options added) cost $110 at UPS Nashville to Washington, DC. I knew the costs before I ever listed them for sale here on TB. I wasn't shocked at the shipping costs but I didn't want to wait 6 months or a year and pay 25-40% more, as that is where it's heading. I really feel for SVT owners trying to sell these days. Shipping is the big roadblock for many TB'ers with heavy gear.

Welp, I went to the local store yesterday and played the Legacy 800...sounded amazing. Now I've been reverbing and running around like mad trying to get rid of some gear to get one.

Question for you all (I know you're biased, it's ok lol). I have 2 Rumble 2x10 cabs that I like the construction and weight of. Would using the legacy head on those still give me all I need, or will I have to go full matching set and swap them for two of the CX210s?

I think it would sound good with any nice bass cabs, I used a RB400 for years with Carvin and Avatar cabs and if I get a legacy 800 I will be using it with my Mesa Subway Cabs!

So I was telling my realtor earlier (we got on the subject of the drug problem) that I had a sure fire method for getting people off meth. She had a puzzled look when I explained that getting them interested in guitars is a 100 percent fool proof way of getting the addict off the drugs. You cant afford meth when you need another guitar. :cool:
