"New" guitarist in your midst

I don't think this is commercial but I lead an amateur jazz band and run free open jazz jams.
Hi "real" bass players!

I'm primarily a guitarist (several decades playing mostly jazz), but I have occasionally studied bass to help my guitar technique and let me cover bass occasionally. I'd like to take my bass playing beyond its current rudimental "survival" level. I'm sure the forums will provide plenty of helpful insights, and I'll happily contribute when I think I have something to add (likely not often at least for a while). But I won't hesitate to chime in with questions, given the wealth of experience in this group.

For those of you in the New York metro area, I co-host a ~monthly open jazz jam in NYC's Flatiron district. We usually attract intermediate to advanced musicians - occasionally including pros - but our priority is to keep it as one of the friendliest open jams. Bass players (also other instrumentalists and vocalists) are always welcome to join us - DM me if you'd like details.

Happy to be here!!
Mark
