Good to be here. Stumbled upon you' all searching for info on my Fernandes bass on a rainy day in Florida. I'll attach pictures. My brother found this bass in a church. They were going to throw it out. It was a mess from decades of none use. He cleaned it up and low and behold it works, and it works well. He gave it to me and we play on weekends, just the two of us at his condo. From what I can gather this bass is an anomaly. There is no serial # or model number. I know that originally Fernandes put the serial # was on a sticker on the back of the tuning head. Maybe this one fell off. Also, the lettering on the tuning head is solid, not outlined which was how they are now. On the back truss plate there is nothing, it's just rectangular metal plate with no lettering on it. Every Fernandes bass I looked at had Fernandes on the plate. Check out the pictures, if anyone has info, please share. I'd appreciate it. Just for kicks I've included a picture of my band the Watt from around 1967.
