So I'm turning my practice shed into a recording studio. I got a good design and everything's figured out but I have one question. I've been to a couple of studios and they've made completely dead rooms and then added a some wood paneling to give it some life (for lack of a better term) back. This is the same principal that I'm going with. My question is regarding the type of wood to use to liven the room a little. Do the different woods add different "flavors" to the sound? I've seen cedar used in a couple of rooms and pine used once. Is there a difference or is it an availability/cost issue?
